Welcome Back Ed....

Hey girls!

So Judy, your life sounds a million times better than mine, except for that whole moving thing, and possible watching certain shows. I'm glad Cowboy has someone to ride him and spoil him. Hopefully he doesn't give her too hard of a time. Is your horse back to work yet or are you still just riding other horses at the barn?
Caton, How's Atlanta? I talked to Lauryn who lives there and she says it is HOT! Unfortunately here it does nothing but rain. We even have flood warnings on a daily basis. It is sickening.
Kristin, What are you up to? If you haven't figured out how to sign up for the blog, I will send you details on how to do it. Let me know. I miss hearing from you!

Well, anyway, Jodi is alive! I was on facebook last night and I was looking to see who else was on...and she was! Granted as soon as i started to type something to her, she wasn't on any more. I was so close. Keep an eye out for her.

So, still no job here, but no worries. Tomorrow I am going to Boston to apply for a job, so keep your fingers crossed. I've also been helping my friend's dad on his dairy farm. He came down with serious heart problems, so he can't work like he used to and he needs to sleep more than the 3 hours a night that he usually does. Today, I planted tomatos, peppers, and cucumbers, and then got very wet when it started to down pour! I also might be starting to do volunteer work at this Thoroughbred Rescue, they need people who can exercise their horses and then of course do some farm work, but that beats sitting at home.

Okay, so tonight on the Bachelorette...crazy! So, I'm a little sad that Jake got kicked off last week, and then of course he comes back this week, and tries to do the right thing, but Wes is an ass. But whatever. I'm over it, my other choice is still in though, Kiptyn. and Michael was so cute when he got kicked off tonight...it made me like him so much more.

So Caton, when I thought you were out, you manage to sneak your way back in. I could not believe that Ed came back into the picture and she was okay with it. But thats okay because even though he wasn't one of my original picks, I still like him.

I really wish that we were all in the same area. I miss just hanging out to either watch a tv show or go out to the bars.

Well, really not much is going on in my life...believe me I will let you know when something exciting happens. Hope you are all doing well. Miss you lots

My super exciting life

Hey all,

I hope everyone’s summer/start of the real world is going well!!
So…. I have tried to continue to watch the Bachelorette, but for some reason I cannot get into it. Although I have watched the rose ceremony every week, and Naomi, I see Jake is doing well :-) Instead of watching the Bachelorette, though, I have been watching more high quality TV such as “I’m a Celebrity! Get me out of here!” and “The real housewives of New Jersey”.

My life is pretty boring here at home :-( I pretty much work on packing my room in the morning and then go to the barn for the afternoon/evening. My horses are doing well. I have leased Cowboy out to a girl at the barn who likes to jump, so I have gone to watch her do jump courses (like 2’3”) at some shows over the past couple of weekends. My other horse, Phoenix, hurt her foot and has been out of commission for the past 2 weeks. So I have been stuck riding the idiot horses at the barn lately. Another exciting part of my life has consisted looking for a new western saddle. I finally put a bid in on one on eBay today---so cross your fingers for me. If anyone of you are in the upstate New York area this summer and want to ride you should give me a call, as we have got a ton of horses.

I am also car-less and have been driving around in my dad’s truck for the past month. My dad decided that I needed a more dependable car, so he sold mine. I have a new (to me) car sitting in the driveway, but we can’t seem to get the title on it because it was a theft car. So hopefully sometime in the next three weeks I will be driving it!! I am so excited: AC, 4 working doors, brakes that don’t squeal, auto-locks, and no vibrating when it idles!!! And it is fire engine red :-)

The big move is scheduled for July 18. It finally seems real and scary! My parents have bought a house in Cincinnati, OH. Our house here has also been sold, ironically to a vet graduating from Ohio State who will be working for the local horse vet clinic. It was really depressing the other day---we got here bank statement come to our house.

Hope all is going well and miss all of you tons!!!!!

So Long Ed...

And...Mark (but honestly who really thought that was going to work out)

Well Caton, you were wrong...again. You wanted Jillian with Jason on the Bachelor, and you wanted Jillian with Ed. Neither seems to have worked out. But don't feel bad, because apparently my pick is TOO perfect. But at least Kiptyn is still in.

The Bachelorette is a little overly dramatic this season. Who has the girlfriend? who did this? who did that? Oh my god, just get on with your lives.

Oh well.

I hope that you are all doing well. Judy, how's the moving with the parents going? Caton, How's HotLanta? Kristin, What are you up to?

I'm still job hunting, have some leads, have had some interviews, had one offer, but it wasn't what I was really looking for so I passed on it.

I miss you girls alot.

ooh, and just fyi, I only had time to write one blog, so this has been copied and pasted, sorry! Don't hate me! I love you! No one has my bachelorette pick though of course, since...that cannot be shared :)

Nash-Vegas!

OK firstly, Bachelorette update..of course I am watching it!

So Jake is showing good potential, however, my pick is ED!! He is definitely going to win, I can hear the wedding bells, he is so cute :)

Oh my goodness I am in love. With Nashville. This place is fabulous. The other day I walked into Panera and everyone looked up and smiled and nodded at me like we were old friends. Today I went to CVS and needed to get directions somewhere, I literally had everyone in line helping me (all with different contradicting directions) and three people drawing me maps. I'm serious, people here are ridiculously nice.

I have a house!!!!!! It is a cute brick split-level? I'm not sure if this is the correct terminology...but anyways, it has a ballin basement for parties galore! (Mostly on Saturday nights) and then a cute patio and a fireplace! It has great little nooks and cranies, and I love it! It's sooo charming :) I'm living with two girls, Stacey and Paulette, you will love them. They're quieter than the rest of the girls in TFA (who all have like Type AAAA personalities), so naturally I gravitated towards them. I discovered that I only take charge when no one else will and these girls are the same. We are getting so sick of these people who are uber-organized, uber-energized and uber-happy ALL THE TIME. What is wrong with them!? LOL. Anyways, Paulette is from Michigan, she went to University of Michigan, and Stacey is from New Hampshire and went to Tufts. I can't wait for you to meet them!

I am currently preparing to go to Hotlanta for my five-week intensive training session, but I will have weekends off..THANK GOD. I am coming hom from July 11th-July 19th, so get ready!!!!!!!!! And..if anyone wants to plan a trip to Nashville, the first two weeks in August should be a good time, I'll still have to work on lesson plans and readying my classroom, but I could always use some assistance (Kylie :) )

Boys are...few and far between. There are only 8 in the Nashville Corps and half of them are in relationships, but...there is this one guy Zach...who is a REDHEAD and went to Boston University. He's a really nice guy, but I don't know if there are sparks. He doesn't really make me laugh, so, that's a problem. Speaking of redheads, Mike quit his job at hickory ridge after they shadily decided to demote him from Hickory Ridge manager to just a pro-shop employee with a pay cut and everything. He was on salary with a verbal contract for a year, and it hasn't even been 6 months, soooo. Good for him. We aren't really talking, but he contacted me after he lost his job, so I guess we're there for each other in crisis and that is all.

I'm so excited to be apart of Teach for America and educational reform in this country, you have no idea! It's such a pressing issue, and I am blessed to be able to enact the change I want to see. It's so inspiring to see the support for our program from everyone in Nashville, everyone is very invested in changing the face of this achievement gap through measurable results and high standards. I'm really ready to get my hands dirty and jump in feet first to help these students who deserve and should demand better.

So, that's my soap-box. I miss you so much!!

Love,

Caton

It hasn't even been two weeks...and I miss you like crazy

Well, I've done it...no, I haven't got a job yet...but I started the blog that we talked about doing so it will be easier for us to stay in touch. I would hate for one of us to fall off the face of the Earth like our once dear friend Jodi did.

Firstly, I miss you all very much and hope that you are all doing well.

Secondly, Did you watch the last two episodes of the Bachelorette?!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when we watched the season premier we had our picks.
Judy...You picked Sasha the, oil and gas company guy or whatever he was. Sorry, he was sent home.
Kristin...You picked Juan, the mamma's boy who might not know he is gay yet. He's still on the show but none of the other guys like him, especially David, who has threatened to kill him on numerous occasions.
Caton...I'm not quite sure who you had, there was Wes, the country singer, and then there was Mr. Nashville. I think Nashville went home, but Wes is laying on the charm thick, and it disgusts me.
My picks...well, I have to say I'm doing quite well. There's Jake, the pilot, who I would take home in a heart beat. Their one-on-one date was absolutely amazing! There was also Kiptyn, who is also still around. She doesn't know what to think of him but she really does like to kiss him.

My call is Jake is going to be one lucky man at the end of all this.
If you've been watching feel free to throw in your opinions.

Well, girls what are you up to? I've just been applying for jobs all over the country and hoping that something will work out for the better. I have some pretty good leads, and if I don't have a job by August, there is a very real possibility that a job will be opened for me at the Vet School right here in Ithaca.

I make the long tedious journey back home to New Hampshire this weekend, and who knows what awaits for me there. A mother who will hound me about picking up things, a brother who will constantly be competing with me to see who can get a job first (I hope I win), a father who has already planned numerous projects around the house that I am supposed to help complete, and of course the dog, who makes all the other things worth it.

Well, I'm going to say goodnight, now that i've rambled on for so long. Ithaca and Cornell just aren't the same without you.

Naomi
